Habitus. BL 1.9 − 2.2 mm, BL /BW ~ 1.7. Dark brown, legs lighter brown, antennae yellowish, distal half infuscate.

Male. S7 a little pointed. T8 narrow, caudal edge slightly angular. Only grouped microtrichia on disc, no setae. To the inside of each apodeme arises on the ventral face a long sclerotized sharply tipped blade ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 − 25 ). S8 is an unpigmented hairless caudally excised small plate with short paired apodemes ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21 − 25 ). T9 represented by two slender slightly sinuous long rods with sharp caudal tip. S9 unpigmented, base slender, unpaired, the oval plate caudally pilose ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21 − 25 ).

Pala a wide ventrally open tubular trough, its base broadly excised between prominent anterolateral corners. Pala narrowing caudad, a little longer than the narrower distal part of the penis. Trigonium plump, finger-shaped with slender basal spur and caudally with a huge downcurved hollow hook. Parameroids shorter than trigonium, slender, widening and slightly curved outward in distal half, apices rounded with small sensory pores ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21 − 25 ). Tegmen a small U-shaped sclerite supporting the parameres which are first abruptly widened and then continuously narrowed to a sharp tip ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 21 − 25 ).

Female. Ovipositor as for genus ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 26 − 28 ). Prehensor complex ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 26 − 28 ), with a deep sleeve-like circular fold and unarmed bare folded sclerites.

Note. The large blades on the lower face of T8 are exceptional. When during dissection of macerated specimens the terminal segments were pulled out T8 was rising until its disc folded forward while the blades on the lower face of T8 pointed back. C. (Calvariellum) cochlearifer n. sp. possesses in the same place small outgrowths that appear like forerunners of the present condition. The species is known from far NE Queensland to South Pine River NW of Brisbane. No congeners are known so far South which helped association of sexes.

Etymology. The name is a noun in apposition, formed from Latin hamus, hook and ferre, to carry: the hookcarrier.
