Distribution. Widespread in China, Korea and Russia ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).

Remarks. This species was first discovered by Jacobi (1943) and named Selenocephalus nuchalis . Subsquently Anufriev (1971) re-described it as a new species with a name of Drabescus striatus , but later ( Anufriev (1979) recognized that this was a junior synonym for Drabscus nuchalis . Kwon & Lee (1979) studied the material collected from the localities and accordingly established a new genus Drabescoides for Selenocephalus nuchalis ( Jacobi, 1943) (type species). Later, the genus was revised by Zhang (1997), who proposed Kutara fusca and K. testaceea as its junior synonyms.

The species can be readily recognized by the male pygofer (figs. 6c, 6f) with 2–5 processes and few macrosetae on the caudal region; style (fig. 6h) with apical process hook shaped; connective stem (fig. 6d) with apex greatly expended and T-shaped; aedeagal shaft (figs. 6a, 6b) with pair of lamellae from basally to distally and spinelike process at base; long basal paired processes of aedeagus; and the medial gonopore on aedeagal shaft dorsal surface.
