Basionym of: Seriola urens (L.) L. (1763) .

Neotype (Turland in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 363. 1998): Italy. Sicilia: Palermo, S. Martino, in pascuis apricis submontosis, Todaro 1257 [Todaro, Flora Sicula Exsiccata] (BM-000576306).

Current name: Hypochaeris cretensis (L.) Bory & Chaub. ( Asteraceae ).
