Type species. Vaughanites leptus Woodring, 1928 , by OD.

Locality/Age. Miocene of Jamaica (Miocene); Recent of the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.

Diagnosis. Shell medium-sized, narrowly fusiform, with high spire and long, narrow, nearly straight siphonal canal. Protoconch of up to two whorls, last one with sharp axial ribs. Spiral sculpture of strong, broadly spaced, spiral cords, intersected by narrow axial ribs, forming regularly reticulated pattern. Aperture narrow. Columella with two oblique plaits.
