Comments.

This is the first record of the genus for Colombia. Dicranoplius is restricted to the Neotropics, to both temperate and tropical South America. It was previously known from Trinidad south to Argentina ( Evans 1969). The studied specimens key out as Dicranoplius areatus in Evans’s (1969) key, but they belong to an undescribed species, which will be described elsewhere.
