Basionym:— Jungermannia hirtella F.Weber, Hist. Musc. Hepat. Prodr. : 50, 1815 ( Weber 1815).
= Chandonanthus gracilis Herzog, Hedwigia 66: 341, 1926 ( Herzog 1926), syn. nov. Type:— INDONESIA. Ceram: Hoale-Pass, ca 1600 m, 1911, Streseman (holotype JE!). Note:—a slender form of Plicanthus hirtellus with reflexed, very ciliate, underleaves. In this respect it approaches Plicanthus hamatus which was treated as a synonym to Plicanthus hirtellus by Kitagawa (1981).
