Pseudoanthidium alpinum ( Morawitz, 1873) View in CoL
( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 , 18 View FIGURE 18 , 19 View FIGURE 19 , 20 View FIGURE 20 , 21 View FIGURE 21 , 22 View FIGURE 22 , 23 View FIGURE 23 )
Anthidium alpinum Morawitz, 1873 View in CoL .—Male, Russia: Dagestan. Holotype in ZISP examined by photograph ( Kasparek & Ebmer 2023).
Anthidium barbatum Mocsáry, 1884 View in CoL .— Hungary.
Anthidium serraticeps Friese, 1917 View in CoL .— Holotype in ZMB examined, synonymy confirmed ( Kasparek & Ebmer 2023).
Genetic barcode information. Three DNA barcoding sequences are available (ABABX465-22, ABABX466-22, ABABX467-22) and were analysed by Kasparek & Ebmer (2023). The COI sequence allowed for the assignment of the previously unknown female to the male. A BIN has not yet been assigned. Pseudoanthidium alpinum View in CoL clusters in the Species ID Tree with P. farsiense and P. microrubrum (see under P. farsiense ).
Notes. Type species of the genus Pseudoanthidium . Descriptions of both sexes, as well as photographs, are provided by Kasparek (2022) and Kasparek & Ebmer (2023).
In addition to the records in Kasparek & Ebmer (2023), the BOLD database (www.boldsystems.org) lists three specimens in the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden ( The Netherlands) from Iktol [Terskol; 43.25°N 42.51°E], Caucasus ( Russia), 27.vi.1927. Identification has been confirmed by T. J. Wood in 2024. Furthermore, Kasparek & Ebmer (2023) reported a specimen from Turkey, whose character traits are somewhat different from P. alpinum . As only a single female was available, they provisionally assigned it to “ P. aff. alpinum ”.
Distribution. Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia (Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic), Spain, and Turkey ( Kasparek & Ebmer 2023).
