Type Locality: Gabon, Belinga.
Vernacular Names: Grasse's Shrew.
Distribution: Recorded from high forest regions in Gabon, Central African Republic, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea ( Goodman et al., 2001 a; Heim de Balsac, 1968 c; Lasso et al., 1996).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: A large and distinctly gray shrew, related to the maurisca-littoralis group ( Querouil et al., In Press).
