Holotype ♀, Thailand, Nan Province, Doi Phu Kha NP, office 1, 22.ii.2008, 19° 12.502' N, 101° 4.936' E, 1342m, Charoen & Nikom (voucher BCLDQ01546, Genbank JN278299 ) ( QSBG).

Paratype: ♀, Thailand, Nan Province, Doi Phu Kha NP, office 4, 22.iii.2008, 19° 12.582' N, 101° 4.93' E, 1374m, Charoen & Nikom (voucher BCLDQ01569, Genbank JN278319 ) ( QSBG) .

Body length 3.0 mm, fore wing length 2.7 mm and antenna length 4.4 mm.

Antenna with 43 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere pointed but not acuminate. Median flagellomeres 2.1 x longer than wide. Occipital carina complete, somewhat irregular, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron rugulose-coriaceous anteriorly and dorsally, aciculate posteriorly, precoxal sulcus weakly impressed, aciculate, speculum large. Propodeum with complete midlongitudinal carina and complete somewhat sinuate lateral carinae, with weakly indicated postero-lateral tubercles. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2.75 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2.5 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.1 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.65 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.1 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu well-developed, dark pigmented, straight, slightly antefurcal. Hind coxa with strong transvere striation basally. Apex of hind tibia without a comb of specialised setae. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Base of tergite 1 with weak rounded lobes. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite barely differentiated, present on anterior 0.7 of tergum.

Etymology. Named in honour of Professor Dr Kumthorn and Professor Dr Vacharobon Thirakhupt, head of Department of Biology Chulalongkorn University and former advisor of BAB respectively.
