Aleiodes basistriatus sp. nov.

Holotype ♂, Thailand, Chiang Mai Province, Huai Nan Dang NP, Thung Buatung View point, 13.ii.2008, 19° 17.56' N, 98° 36.029' E, Anuchart & Thawatchai (voucher BCLDQ01500, Genbank JN278265 ) ( QSBG).

Length of body 6.1mm, of fore wing 5.8 mm and of antenna 6.5 mm.

Antenna with 44 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere elongate and acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately 2.5 x longer than wide. Occipital carina complete, somewhat irregular medio-dorsally, ventrally joining hypostomal carina at acute angle. Mesopleuron largely aciculate, precoxal sulcus weakly impressed but sculpture not differeniated, speculum absent. Midlongitudinal propodeal carina virtually complete, extreme posterior regular and weak. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 3.75 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 1.95 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.25 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu absent though location indicated by small angulation near base of vein 2-M. Apex of hind tibia without comb of adpressed setae. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite moderately produced, rounded, not concave posteriorly. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite distinct only on anterior 0.2 of tergum.

Etymology. In reference to the striate sculpture at the base of the 4 th metasomal tergite.

Notes. Keyed out twice because the 4 th tergite has only rather faint rugosity at the base which might be overlooked.
