Holotype ♂, Thailand, Uthai Thani, Huai Kha Khaeng WS, Khao Nang Ram viewpoint, 30–31.x. 1991, 500m, I. J. Kitching & A. M. Cotton (no sequence data) ( BMNH).

Body length [corrected] 6.8 mm, fore wing length 5.7 mm and antenna length 8.0 mm.

Antenna with 50 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere cylindrical, moderately acuminate. Median flagellomeres nearly 2 x longer than wide. Occipital carina complete but somewhat irregular mediodorsally, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron largely aciculare, precoxal sulcus broad, weakly impressed, rugulose, speculum absent. Midlongitudinal carina of propodeum strong, complete, posteriorly joining conchoidal pattern of carinae. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 1.4 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.95 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.4 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.55 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu moderately long, pigmented, slightly postfurcal. Hind tibia without comb of especially modified setae. Claws with pecten of moderately robust teeth, reaching apex of basal lobe, the distal ones diverging. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite absent; dorsope large and deep. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite well differentiated on anterior 0.7.

Etymology. Named in reference to the very large ocelli.
