Holotype ♂, Thailand, Chaiaphum , Phu Khieo WS, km 14 on road to HQ, 750m, 6.xi.1991, I. J. Kitching & A. M. Cotton (no sequence data) ( BMNH).

Length of body 4.3 mm, of fore wing 3.6 mm and of antenna 5.5 mm.

Antenna with 38 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere pointed. Median flagellomeres approximately 3.5 x longer than wide. Occipital carina complete, mediodorsally forming a point and a short midlongitudinal carina, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron dorsally with strong longitudinal striation, precoxal sulcus with distinct transverse striation, speculum absent. Midlongidudinal propodeal carina present on anterior 0.6 of propodeum only. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.8 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 1.65 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.9 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.4 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.7 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu moderately developed, postfurcal. Hind coxa with transverse striation basomedially. Apex of hind tibia without comb of mofified setae medially. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite large and strongly concave posteriorly such that steepest angle virtually transverse. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite weak but distinct on anterior 0.6 of tergum. Etymology. Latin for a ribbon in reference to the narrow dark transverse band on metasomal tergite 3.
