Aleiodes globofemurus sp. nov.

Holotype ♀, Thailand, Chiang Mai Province, Huayhongkrai , aerial net, 19.iii.2008, R. Butcher (no sequence data) ( CUMZ).

Body length 4.0 mm, fore wing length 4.0 mm and antenna length approximately 3.5 mm.

Antenna with 31 dlagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere moderately acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately 1.2 x longer than wide. Occipital carina obliterated mediodorsally, but its path evenly rounded, joining hypostomal carina ventrally. Mesopleuron almost entirely aciculate, precoxal sulcus hardly impressed, speculum rather large. Propodeum with complete midlongitudinal carina. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2.4 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 1.85 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.1 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.4 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.75 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose.Hind wing vein m-cu indicated by a wing fold, interstitial. Hind wing vein SR running more or less parallel to anterior wing margin. Apex of hind tibia without comb of modified adpressed setae. Claws with pecten of 3 or 4 small well separated teeth near base to middle of basal lobe. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite hardly produced, rounded. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite only weakly differeniated on anterior 0.2.

Etymology. In reference to the very swollen femurs.

Notes. Superficially very similar to a species of Yelicones , from which, in addition to the key characters, it can be distinguished by not having fore wing vein M+CU strongly sinuate and having the claws with only a small pecten.
