Broun number: 1929.

Remarks: Sharp based this species on a single specimen.

Type material examined: Holotype ( BMNH): card-mounted, “ Bitoma serratic- ula Type D.S. New Zealand. Murray [written at base of card in Sharp’s hand] // Type [round label with red border] // Sharp Coll. 1905-313. // BMNH (E) #651701”.
