Remarks: Sharp based this species on a single specimen.

Type material examined: Holotype ( BMNH): card-mounted, “ Bitoma nana Type N. Zeal d D.S. [written at base of card in Sharp’s hand] // Type [round label with red border] // Sharp Coll 1905-313.”
