Distribution: Extreme S Chile and S Argentina.
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable; reduced in numbers by sheep grazing.
Discussion: Osgood (1943) included fodax but see coments under that taxon. Karyotype has 2n=34-36 and FN=64 ( Gallardo, 1991).
