Type (holotype): — Trigonosciadium tuberosum Boissier (1844: 345)
Biennial, with sheath remains at the base of stem. Root swollen, fusiform. Stem ± triquetrous or angled above or below. Leaves 1-pinnate, pubescent. Inflorescence a compound umbel, rays unequal. Bracts and bracteoles present. Petals white or yellow, bilobed, the outer one radiant, pubescent at the base. Sepals 4–5, in fruit distinct or not. Stylopodium narrow or cupular, edges of stylopodium undulate-lobed. Styles gradually thickened below, persistent in fruit. Stigma capitate. Fruit strongly flattened dorsally, winged, pubescent, dorsal and lateral ridges 5, delicate. Dorsal vittae 4, filiform, not reaching the base of mericarp. Commissural vittae 2, similar to dorsal vittae.
