Sternite 1+2 forming a whole plate; sternites 3, 4, 5 and 6 divided into two plates each. Sternite 7 subtriangular, with lateral and medial portions with depressions, strongly pigmented and without setae. Male: all tergites and sternites forming by a whole plate.

Type host. Thyroptera devivoi Gregorin, Gonçalves, Lim & Engstrom, 2006 .

Type locality. Brazil. Maranh „o, Barreirinhas, Tabocas .

Geographic distribution. Brazil (Maranh„o) ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ).

Remarks. The species presents similarities with H.autinoae sp. nov. and H. inaequalis . It differs from the female H. inaequalis by the number and distribution of setae associated with the eyes, where H. mariae has three setae, two anteriorly and one between each eye, and H. inaequalis has four setae, all anteriorly to the eyes. Furthermore, H. inaequalis presents the tergite 4 divided and H. mariae the tergite is whole. With regard to H. autinoae sp. nov., this species has only two setae associated with the eyes and only tergite 6 is divided.

With regard to the male, the species differs from the two species mentioned above by abdominal ctenidium covering entire posterior margin of sternite 1+2
