TYPE LOCALITY: Colombia, Magdalena, San Miguel (Macotama River) .
DISTRIBUTION: Panama; N. and W. Colombia; N. Venezuela.
COMMENT: Formerly included in dorsalis by Carter and Rouk, 1973, J. Mammal., 54:976; but also see Handley, 1976, Brigham Young Univ. Sci. Bull., Biol, ser., 20(5):28, who by inference included oratus and aquilus in this species. Hall, 1981: 146, included this species in dorsalis .
