DISTRIBUTION: Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil to Zacatecas ( Mexico), thence to S. Utah, S. Nevada and S.W. British Columbia and through E. United States to S. Canada; Jamaica; Cuba; Hispaniola; Puerto Rico; Bermuda; Bahamas; Trinidad; Galapagos.
COMMENT: Includes degelidus , minor , and pfeifferi; see Varona, 1974:36. Includes brachyotis ; see Niethammer, 1964, Mammalia, 28:595.
