Type series: Holotype: Male, Wulabo County, Wulumuqi City, Xinjiang Province, stream, 20 August 1997, leg. Jin Daochao. Paratype: Twenty males and twenty four females, the same data as holotype. One male and one female were dissected and slide-mounted.
Diagnosis Genital plates of male separated; P-II stout and distal ventral surface very much inflated; ventral margin of P-IV wavy.
Description Male Body soft and smooth, 992 in length, 751 in width; A1 located on anterior end of body; O1 posterior to A1; A2 slightly anterior to posterior-lateral eyes; O2 fused with a small plate, and anterior to D1; infracapitular bay V-shaped, longer than median margins of CxI; CxI with anterior cornu, median margins of CxI separated but close to each other; ACG with small posterior apodemes; ACG and PCG separated; E4 located on anterior margin of CxIII; medial margins of CxIII round with moderated secondary sclerotization, distance between CxIII median angles (including the secondary sclerotization) 49; genital plates separated both ends, 263 in length and 161 in width; pregenital and progenital sclerites small; three pairs of genital acetabula, the second acetabulum far away from the first but close and anterolateral to the third, the third is bigger than the others; genital plates with several setae; V1 close to posterolateral corner of genital plates, V3 lateral to V1; chelicera as shown in Figure 7 View FIGURE 7 -F, 271 in length, chelicera claw 74 in length; proportion and chaetotaxy of palp as shown in the Figure 7 View FIGURE 7 -E, P-II stout and distal ventral surface very much inflated, with a sword-like seta, 28 in length; ventral side of P-IV wavy, with one long hair-like seta and three fine setae; dorsal lengths of P-I to P-V: 25, 128, 83, 190, 45; I-L-5 with two ventral long distal setae; IV-L-6 with three strong setae in a row and a subterminal seta, 106 in length; claw with one slender dorsal clawlet and one ventral thick clawlet; dorsal lengths of I-L-3 to 6: 105, 136, 144, 165; dorsal lengths of IV-L-3 to 6: 175, 254, 249, 231; III-L-4 with 5, III-L-5 with 7, IV-L-4 with 5 and IV-L-5 with 8 swimming hairs.
Female Body soft and smooth, 1115 in length, 819 in width; the shape of dorsum and coxae similar to male; genital plates (including pregenital sclerite) 275 in length and 213 in width; three pairs of genital acetabula; outer edges of plates concave between the first acetabulum and the second, plates with several setae; chelicera 261 in length, chelicera claw 73 in length; the shape of palp similar to male; dorsal lengths of P-I to P-V: 34, 105, 121, 184, 41; dorsal lengths of I-L-3 to 6: 124, 158, 178 143; IV-L-6 with five strong and pinnate setae in a row, and a sub-terminal seta; dorsal lengths of IV-L-3 to 6: 221, 303, 313, 263; III-L-4 with 8, III-L-5 with 7, IV-L-4 with 5 and IV-L-5 with 7 swimming hairs.
Remarks The new species closely resemble Limnesia koenikei asiatica Marshall, 1928 . The following morphological characteristics distinguish the new species from Limnesia . koenikei asiatica . The third acetabulum is bigger than the others and genital plates separated in male, V3 locates near to posterior end of EpIV in female in new species, while the third acetabtulum is almost in same size to the others and genital plates fused in male, V3 near to EpIII in female in Limnesia . koenikei asiatica . In addithon, the new species closely resemble Limnesia caucasica Tuzovskij, 1997 from Russia. The following morphological characteristics distinguish the new species from Limnesia caucasica . The second acetabulum is lateral to the third, which above the third in Limnesia caucasica ; the ventral surface of P-II rapidly inflated at distal end, which gradually inflated from proximal to distal margin in Limnesia caucasica .
Etymology Named after its inflated ventral surface of P-II. “turgeo” Latin word, means inflated.
