3. Muscarella Luer (2006: 94)

Upon proposing Pleurothallis catoxys Luer & Hirtz in Luer (1996: 151) the authors cited the holotype of Pleurothallis claviculata Luer & Hirtz in Luer (1996: 153). The protologue indicates that they cannot be based on the same specimen because they clearly represent two species. A search of the type specimens at MO revealed that Hirtz et al. 4635 is annotated as holotype of P. claviculata , whereas Luer 12715 is annotated as holotype of P. catoxys . Illustrations accompanying the two specimens are the same as that published in the protologue. This mistake can be corrected according to Art. 9.2.
