Type:— COLOMBIA. Norte de Santander / Cesar: Jurisdicciones, Cerro de Oroque , 3700– 3900 m., 22–27 Jul 1974, Garcia-Barriga & Jaramillo M. 20692 (holotype: AMES-02084705!; UGDA-drawing!)

Notes:— Not Stelis undulata Luer & Hirtz in Luer (2002: 61). This is not a species of S. subgen. Crocodeilanthe ( Reichenbach & Warszewicz 1854: 10) Karremans (2019: 284) but more likely a member of S. sect. Acuminatae ( Lindley 1859: 32) Karremans (2019: 307). The new name refers to the mistaken placement of the species when first described.
