Type species: Megipocerus mordvilkoi Zakhvatkin View in CoL , by original designation.

Diagnosis. Coloration. Body generally ochraceous, with dark markings on head and thorax, vertex with a spot on anterior area on either side.

Morphology. Head as wide as pronotum, shagreen. Ocelli closer to adjacent eyes than to each other. Lateral frontal sutures extended to ocelli. Lateral margins of anteclypeus strongly concave, clypeal suture well developed; antennal fovea deep, supra-antennal ledges curved. Pronotum elevated, wider than long, shagreen, sparsely but very distinctly punctate, hind margin incurved. Scutellum and exposed part of mesonotum together nearly twice as long as pronotum and vertex together, scutellar suture with two separate oblique grooves. Hind femoral macrosetae 2+0. Forewing membrane transparent with strong veins, with 3 subapical cells, outer subapical cell smallest and closed behind, inner and central cells (crossvein r-m1 absent) open behind, apical cells 4; clavus with two veins.

Male genitalia. Pygofer nearly triangular, a ventral pygofer process with distal spines, anal collar poorly developed without process. Subgenital plate triangular in ventral view, lateral margin with numerous fine setae. Connective with poteriorly bifurcate stem. Style with apex rounded, dorsally curved, Style short with basal apophysis longer than distal apophysis. Aedeagal shaft with pair of lateral preapical flanges.
