Type: — INDIA. Assam, Manipur, Laireain , 3000 ft., 5 April 1882, G. Watt 6254 (first-step lectotype designated by Dunn 1912: 152, second-step lectotype designated here: E00301103 !; isolectotypes: CAL0000011572 About CAL image!, HBG-520791 image!, K001415532 !, P02141861 image!) .
Prain (1897) published the name Millettia pulchra var. tomentosa and cited three collections, namely Wallich Cat. 5630C, Prain s.n. and Watt 6274 (actually 6254). Dunn (1912) indicated Watt 6254 as type [first-step lectotype], but did not specify a herbarium. There are at least five duplicates of this gathering, and we designate one of them (E00301103) as the second-step lectotype of the name (see Art. 9.17 Ex. 14, Turland et al. 2018).
