Rhyncaphytoptus abiesis Xue, Song & Hong, 2006a: 10–11 View Cited Treatment .
Rhyncaphytoptus abiesis ; Xue et al., 2012: 64 View Cited Treatment .
Material examined. 10 females (slide number NJAUAcariEriH46), from Pinus koraiensis Sieb. Et Zucc. (Pinaceae) , Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China, 47°43'36''N, 128°55'12''E, elevation 234m, 25 July 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zhen Wang & Zi-Wei Song; 12 females (slide number NJAUAcariEri563), Pinus sp. (Pinaceae) , Changbai Mountain, Jilin Province, P. R. China, 42°02'27''N, 128°03'30''E, elevation 1892m, 25 June 2006, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue & Zi-Wei Song. Careful analysis of the images revealed unpaired seta vi at the apex of the shield, thus assigning this mite to Phytoptidae .
Hosts. Abies fabri (Mast.) Craib , Pinus koraiensis Sieb. Et Zucc. (Pinaceae) .
Relation to host. Vagrant.
Distribution. China (Heilongjiang, Jilin, Shaanxi).
Note. After carefully checking the specimens, we found a neglected character, seta vi present on the anterior margin of prodorsal shield. With this character and other characters, the species abiesis should be moved to the genus Nalepella .
