Type material. Holotype, female (slide number NJAUAcariEriH30-1, marked Holotype), from Salix sp. (Salicaceae) , Huzhong District, Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China, 52°01'44''N, 123°35'44''E, elevation 512m, 22 July 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zhen Wang & Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 6 females (slide number NJAUAcariEriH30-1), with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Galls.
Etymology. The specific designation huzhongensis is combined from Huzhong (place name, where the new species was collected), and the suffix ensis.
Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to A. salixis Xue, Song & Hong, 2007a , from Salix sp. (Salicaceae) , but can be differentiated from the latter by the coxal plates with short lines and granules (coxal plates with granules in A. salixis ) and the different design of the prodorsal shield.
Note. This species occurred together with Aculus huzhongsalixus sp. nov.
