Distribution.
Origin: Nearctic. Canada: BC.
Bionomics.
The type series was collected by sifting litter ( Klimaszewski et al. 2020).
Comments.
We here transfer this species to Dasygnypeta sensu nov. based on morphology illustrated by Klimaszewski et al. (2020). This recently described western species is most similar to eastern D. nigrella based on the moderately elongate antennae, more robust body and the distinctive deep emargination of female sternite VIII. However, it is easily distinguished by the coarser pronotal punctation, and male and female genitalia (Fig. 10 View Figure 10 ). The aedeagus of D. baranowskii is superficially similar to P. densissima but these taxa are externally quite different.
