Amphinemura dispositspina Du & Wang View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Figs. 9–15 View FIGURES 9 – 15 )

Adult habitus. Head brown, antennae pale brown; head wider than pronotum, pronotum brown, trapezoidal, corners blunt rounded, midline distinct; wings hyaline, veins pale brown; legs pale brown.

Male. Forewing length 6.0– 6.8 mm, hind wing length 5.2–5.7 mm. Tergum 9 lightly sclerotized, except along posterior margin where it is well sclerotized, several long, pale brown spines located on the raised posterior margin. Tergum 10 lightly sclerotized, a membranous area presented near middle of anterior margin, a rhombic, flat, sclerotized plate below the epiproct. Hypoproct broad at base, tapering to a bluntly rounded apex that covers inner lobes of paraprocts; vesicle length 3X width. Paraprocts divided into 3 lobes, inner lobe sclerotized and bifurcate at tip; median lobe with wide pale sclerotized base, narrowed from middle part, curved upwards and forming right angle from the lateral view, armed with long hairs on the surface of basal part, and a row of regular long spines located around inner side of the apex and several long spines on the outer side; outer lobe slender, its thin base darkly sclerotized, tip expanded, 3–4 rows of denticles arranged on ventral surface. Epiproct narrow at base, widest in basal ¼, then tapering to a notched, laterally concave apex; dorsal sclerite lightly sclerotized, widest at middle and expanded ventrally, the latter most distinct in lateral view, tapering with a notch at tip; lateral arms darkly sclerotized; ventral sclerite reaching over apex of the dorsal sclerite, and with a notch at tip, a bulge present at 1/3 distance from apex with small, blunt denticles ventrally.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype male, CHINA: Futian village, Eryuan county, Yunnan province, 24 May 1996, Leg. Du Yu–Zhou. Paratype 1 m, same data as the holotype.

Etymology. The name refers to a row of long, regular spines arranged on the inner side of the apex of the median lobes of paraprocts. The Latin dispositio meaning arrangement and spina meaning thorn.

Remarks. This new species is similar to Amphinemura nepalensis Harper, 1975 in having several long spines on the median lobe of the paraproct and rows of denticles on the outer lobe of the paraproct. In our new species, the ventral sclerite forms a bulge at 1/3 the distance from the apex with small, blunt denticles ventrally, In A. nepalensis , the ventral sclerite of epiproct has a slender, protruding, darkly sclerotized projection, and several small spines surrounding the apical portion of the projection.
