Debilos owinum Scherrer , sp. nov.

( Figs 40, 48, 80, 104, 148)

Description. Female. Fore wing 4.5 mm. Head ( Fig. 80): Antenna with 23–25 flagellomeres. Clypeus smooth, moderately convex, regularly curved, CWH 1.92; MWC 0.75, MLW 1.89, MWW 0.33; malar space moderately long, MSM 1.00; supra-antennal area with faint, median, longitudinal carina; minimum distance from eye margin to occipital carina laterally approximately same width of mandible base.

Mesosoma ( Fig. 104). Pronotum lateral portion inconspicuously strigate to rugose, epomia faint; notaulus faintly impressed, uniformly sculptured with mesoscutum, not reaching middle of mesoscutum; mesopleuron dorsal half medially faintly strigulate-rugulose, ventral half without distinct ridges or rugae, epicnemial carina restricted to ventral 0.6 of mesopleuron, posteriorly inconspicuously, sparsely corrugated ( Fig. 48); mesopleural groove faintly, sparsely corrugated; sternaulus anterior 0.8 faintly corrugated; postpectal carina medially distinctly bent; metapleuron, subapical fovea shallow, subcircular; pleural carina stout, or moderately stout; propodeum anterior area moderately long, PLL 0.87, anterior transverse carina distinct, complete, medially distinctly arched forwards, posterior area faintly strigate-rugose, with faint ridges medially distinctly arched backwards, spiracle distinctly elliptic, SWL 1.75, propodeal apophyses long, thorn-shaped, AHD 1.92. Legs: Hind t4 posterior lobe about 0.72 × as long as anterior lobe. Wings ( Fig. 40): Fore wing vein (Rs+M)b perfectly straight, limit with crossvein 1m-cu distinct, ramellus absent; vein Rs&1M uniformly slightly curved; crossvein 1cu-a uniformly slightly convex, arising distinctly apicad vein Rs&1M, by about 0.1–0.2 × 1cu-a length, angle with vein M+Cu about 90 degrees; vein 2Cua moderately shorter than crossvein 2cu-a, FWC 0.61; areolet small, APH 0.82; vein 2Ma approximately as long as vein 2Mb; vein 2Mb tubular; crossvein 2m-cu with bulla short, about 0.2 × as long as vein length or shorter; vein 2Rsb slightly sinuous. Hind wing vein 2-1A long, reaching about 0.8 × the distance to wing margin, HWC 2.25.

Metasoma ( Fig. 104). T1 petiole basal half smooth towards base, apical half, postpetiole imbricate, except pospetiole apical parts smooth, spiracle at about basal 0.7, prominent, T1LW 2.72, T1WW 2.91, T1GL 0.32; T2 moderately short, apically robust, T2T1L 0.74, thyridium subcircular, T2LW 0.85, T2WW 2.14. Ovipositor approximately straight, OST 0.59, dorsal valve with nodus absent, notch absent; ventral valve tip with inconspicuous serrations restricted to very tip.

Color. Head black, mesosoma orangish brown (159, 079, 047), legs bright orangish brown (213, 144, 056), metasoma mostly dark brown (073, 054, 042). Head: Scape ventrally lightest; pedicel and flagellomeres 5–9 dorsally white; clypeus dark brown ( Fig. 80); mouth parts whitish (218, 216, 195), except mandible apex blackish. Mesosoma: Collar mostly and propodeal apophyses white; propleuron darker than pronotum, except ventro-lateral corner whitish. Legs: Fore and mid coxae and trochanters, hind coxa apical margin, trochanter basal parts and apical margin, tibia basal 0.2, t2 and t3 white, except fore coxa basal portion dorsally faintly and mid coxa anteriorly and posteriorly with brown mark, and fore and mid trochanters; mid and fore trochanter with dorsoposterior whitish spot; hind trochanter and all trochantellus dark brown, except trochantellus ventrally lightest; hind trochanter and femora basal margin and ventrally, and hind t1 lightest; fore and mid tibiae anteriorly and posteriorly, rather mid tibia dorsal elliptical mark at apex, pale yellow (241, 224, 144) to whitish. Fore wing with one faint, dark spot, on apical half of cell 3M and 1+2R1, and surrounding areas. Metasoma: T1 ventrally and basally lightest; T1 apical 0.2 and T2 apical 0.3 with white stripe, T2 stripe central 0.4 anteriorly slightly concave, concavity apex not reaching about half stripe width; T3–7 darkest towards base; T3–5 apical margin lightest; T6 apical margin, T7 and T8 dorsally, and sternites medially white; ovipositor sheath dark brown, except basal 0.9 ventrally whitish; ovipositor light brown (187, 144, 084).

Male. Unknown.

Comments. Included in the D. typurum species group (see item Species Delimitation). This species is most likely to be mistaken for D. okum because of their similar color pattern coxae and hind tarsus, but both these species differ from all other species of D. typurum group by having the combination of flagellomere 1 without dorsal white mark, mesoscutum medially without centro-posterior square dark mark, propodeum anterior area moderately to very long, PLL>0.8, hind coxa mostly with the same color than metapleuron, even if with apical dark marks, and metasoma posterior half dark brownish, except with marks. On its turn, D. owinum can be separated from D. okum by having the epicnemial carina restricted to ventral 0.6 of mesopleuron (vs. 0.8 of mesopleuron), propodeum anterior area moderately long, PLL 0.87 (vs. very long, PLL 1.18), fore wing with one faint, apical dark spot (vs. with two distinct dark spots), hind coxa without apical dark marks (vs. with apical dark marks), and thyridium subcircular (vs. distinctly longer than wide).

Etymology. From the Carib word ówin, meaning “one,” in reference to the fore wing with one dark spot in this species.

Variability. Supra-antennal area sometimes with almost indistinct longitudinal line. Color: Flagellomere 4 apical parts sometimes white; mesosoma color orangish brown (188, 093, 032) to brownish; extension and brightness of lightest marks on legs and metasoma variable.

Distribution. Brazil. Known only from Pará: Floresta Nacional de Caxiuanã, Melgaço (02°04’54”S 51°51’05”W) ( Fig. 148).
