Vernacular Names: Yonenaga's Atlantic Spiny-rat.

Distribution: Left bank of the São Francisco River from Bara to Pilão Arcado (NE Brazil).

Discussion: Karyotype has 2n=54 and FN=108 (Leal-Mesquinta et al., 1992).
