Material examined. Vietnam: Quảng Bình (Lâm Thǔy, Lệ Thủy)— Rattus type IV, Leopoldamys herberti (March 2017, 7 larvae), Nghe An (Hoa Binh, near Pu Mat National Park)— Rhizomys pruinosus (April 2018, 3 larvae).

Remarks. Examined specimens differ from the description of G. mirabilis ( Schluger et al. 1960b) by the shape of scutum (narrow and slim end of scutum) and by the longer scutal setae (AL = PL = 41–44 vs. AL = 28–36, PL = 32–38). Some specimens has 9 scutal setae.
