Holotype: female ( NHRS). Type locality: Argentina, Patagonia. Distr.: Araucanía Region: Malleco Province (Termas Tolhuaca); Los Ríos Region: Valdivia Province (Valdivia); Los Lagos Region: Osorno Province (Puyehue), Llanquihue Province (Casa Pangue, Puente Trapen), Chiloé Province (Ancud, Castro, Puntra, Río Carihueico, Tongoy a beach near to 42.476°S 73.732°W); Aysén Region: Aysén Province (Puerto Aysén, Puerto Cisnes); Magallanes Region: Magallanes Province (Punta Arenas, Río las Minas), Antártica Chilena Province (35 km SW Cameron, Cordillera las Piedras, El Ganso, Isla Navarino, Puerto Williams). Argentina: “Patagonia”; Tierra del Fuego Province (Río Grande) (see Aubertin, 1930: 101; Lindner, 1943: 95).

Comments. Of the five paratypes (one male and four females) mentioned in the original description ( James, 1973b), two females are deposited in the CNC collection (see Cooper & Cumming, 1993: 44). The depository institution of the remaining three paratypes remains unknown.
