Type Locality: West Indes, Lesser Antilles, Santa Lucia.

Vernacular Names: Santa Lucian Pilorie.

Distribution: Known only from Santa Lucia.

Conservation: IUCN – Extinct.

Discussion: Provisionally retained as species by Ray (1962), who suspected that improved samples would demonstrate conspecificity with M. desmarestii .
