Diagnosis. The male is closely related to that of Langelurillus minutus , but it differs by the location of the smaller retrolateral tibial apophysis, which is placed more dorsally than in L. minutus (compare Fig. 28D View FIGURE 28 with Fig. 26B View FIGURE 26 ). It also resembles L. alius sp. nov. but can be distinguished by the dorsal retrolateral tibial apophysis being thinner than the ventral apophysis, while the converse is true for L. alius sp. nov. (compare Fig. 28D View FIGURE 28 with Fig. 23C View FIGURE 23 ). Female unknown.
Etymology. The specific name is Latin, meaning “small”, and refers to the diminutive size of this species.
Type material. Holotype: ♂, MOZAMBIQUE: Maputo: near Marracuene, Blue Anchor Inn , 25°35.124’S, 32°39.568’E, sifting leaf litter, savanna, 28.X.2007, leg. C. Haddad & R. Fourie ( NCA 2020 /184). GoogleMaps
Description. Male: Measurements. Cephalothorax length 2.3, width 1.8, height 0.9.Abdomen length 1.7, width 1.5. Eye field length 0.9, anterior width 1.5, posterior width 1.4. Very small spider, general appearance as in Fig. 28A View FIGURE 28 . Carapace oval, dark brown, with black eye field. Whole carapace clothed in dense brown hairs, scattered white hairs on thoracic part, long brown bristles near eyes, anterior eyes surrounded by small fawn scales from above and white hairs from below. Clypeus low, yellow, with white hairs. Chelicerae toothless, brown. Mouthparts and sternum brown. Abdomen almost spherical, brown, with poorly defined pattern composed of lighter patches, venter creamy. Abdominal hairs brown, long bristles at anterior edge. Anterior spinnerets yellow, posterior brownish. Legs yellowish-orange with some brown marks, leg hairs brown and white, spines light brown. Palps yellow, but ventral surfaces of their femora black ( Fig. 28C View FIGURE 28 ). Cymbium yellowish, clothed in white hairs, bulb very convex, dark. Palpal organ as in Fig. 28B–E View FIGURE 28 , with two tibial retrolateral apophyses hidden by white hairs.
Distribution. Only known from the type locality.
Remarks. The rod-like hairs on the eye field typical for the majority of Langelurillus species are absent in three species, i.e. L. alius sp. nov., L. minutus and L. pusillus sp. nov.
