Subgenus Baudia Ragusa, 1884
Badister (Baudia) ishigakiensis Habu 1975 View in CoL
New record for Hong Kong. These specimens differ significantly from Morita's (1994) redescription of B. (B.) fukiensis Jedlièka 1937 View in CoL , and Sundukov (2008) description of B. (B.) peltatus Panzer, 1796 View in CoL , the only two species in the subgenus recorded in China, but agree perfectly with Habu's description and illustrations, including male tarsi and genitalia of this species. It was described from and to date confined to Ishigaki Island, one of the southernmost island of Japan, 1,000 km northeast of Hong Kong, where it was caught by light trap. Interestingly all specimens from Hong Kong are from Lantau Island and all caught by light trap. It would be interesting to find this species on the mainland or whether this is a true island species.
