Callistomimus modestus modestus ( Schaum, 1863) View in CoL

Schaum described this species from a specimen collected by Bowring in Hong Kong. Redtenbacher (1867) lists " Callistus amabilis Chaudoir View in CoL ?" a junior synonym of this species from Hong Kong, but it may never to have been described under that name (see Andrewes 1921c). Kirschenhofer (2003a) lists amabilis Redtenbacher 1867 View in CoL as a junior synonym of modestus View in CoL . Also listed for Hong Kong by Gemminger & Harold (1868), Andrewes (1921c & 1924) and Kirschenhofer (1997 & 2003a).
