Andrewes 1919a noted that a junior synonym of this species, Miscelus rufiventris Walker, 1858 View in CoL , occurred in Hong Kong. Kabak (2003) lists this species for Hong Kong. Hua (2002) lists this taxon as Miscelus javanus Klug 1834 View in CoL var. unicolor .
