Subgenus Coptodera Dejean, 1825 View in CoL
Coptodera (Coptoderina) chaudoiri Andrewes, 1919
Andrewes (1919a) described this species from a specimen incorrectly identified as Somotrichus bicinctus ( Hope, 1845) by Chaudoir, as this name is a synonym of S. unifasciatus ( Dejean, 1831) . Chaudoir had received the specimen from Dohrn and was originally taken by Bowring in Hong Kong. Later, Andrewes (1921b) listed a junior synonym of Coptodera chaudoiri , namely Coptodera transversa Schmidt-Göbel, 1846 , as occurring in Hong Kong. The species was also listed as occurring in Hong Kong by Hua (2002) and Kabak (2003). Material: 1 ex. W.T., June 2011. Biology: Imago found June. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged.
