Bates (1873a) described this species from Japanese specimens, and noted it was also found in Hong Kong. Also listed for Hong Kong by Habu (1982b) and Kabak (2003). Material: 1 ex. W.T.L., 30.iv.11 (Collection of Masaru Hond, Japan); 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lantau, Mui Wo, 24.v.15, netted from flowering Baeckea frutescens L.; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lantau, Ngong Ping, 10.viii.12, netted in moldy, dead grass; 2 exx. Hong Kong, Tai Lung Farm (AFCD) 26.xi.92, preying on leaf roller of Microcos paniculata Linn. [presumably Microcerus nervosa (Lour) (AFCD collection, Tai Lung Farm. Collector P.W.Chan. Determined G. G. K i r by). Biology: Imago found April to November, though Hond (2012) notes they overwinter in Japan as adults. Can be attracted to light, it is fully winged and capable of flight. According to Hond (2012) both the adults and larvae of this species feed on leaf rolling Lepidopteran larvae. May be associated with flowering Baeckea frutescens L.
