Type material. Holotype: ♀, Cañón del Rio Nima , La Sirena (3° 22´N, 76° 05´W; 2550 m), Valle del Cauca, Colombia, agosto 1994, E. Florez, deposited in MUSENUV 23552 GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 2 ♂, 3♀, same data as holotype, deposited in IMCN 994 and 997 GoogleMaps .

Etymology. This species is named after the first author’s father, Alberto Hazzi, in acknowledgement of his support and encouragement.

Diagnosis. Males lack the ventral palpal tibial lobe typical of most other members of this genus. They also have a large retrolateral tibial apophysis with a well-defined distal curvature and the median apophysis has a rounded apex ( Figs 3 A–F View FIGURE 3 ). Females have an epigynal median sector with a posteromedial V-shaped projection, lateral sectors projecting into a short lobe ( Fig 2A View FIGURE 2 ) and each spermatheca has a large head and a broad base ( Fig 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Individuals of both sexes have only three pairs of ventral spines beneath metatarsi I and II.

Description. Female (MUSENUV 23552). Total length 5.62. Coloration in alcohol ( Fig 1A View FIGURE 1 ): Carapace dark brown, with a pale orange longitudinal median band, black pigment around eyes, chelicerae pale orange with two longitudinal gray lines, legs and pedipalps pale orange with irregular dark brown reticulations. Carapace 2.60 long, 2.20; ocular area 0.62 long, 1.22 wide, eye diameters AME:ALE:PME:PLE, 0.14:0.12:0.26:0.25; AME-AME nearly AME diameter; PME separation 0.38 times PME diameter; clypeal height 0.11; sternum 1.25 long, 1.37 wide; labium 0.30 long, 0.47 wide. Leg measurements: I: femur 2.4, patella 0.87, tibia 2.5, metatarsus 2.5, tarsus 1.35, total 9.62; II: 2.5, 0.87, 2.25, 2.25, 1.2, 7.84; III: 2.04, 0.66, 1.68, 1.98, 0.85, 7.21; IV: 2.51, 0.73, 2.4, 2.64, 1.12, 9.4. Leg spination: palpus-femur d0- 0-1-2, p0-0-0-1, r0-0-0-1, patella p0-1-0-0, tibia p0-1-1-1, r0-1-0-1, tarsus p2-1-0, r0-1-0-1; leg I-femur d1-1-1,p0-0-1-1 r1-1-1, tibia v2-2-2-2-2, metatarsus v2-2-2; leg II-femur d1-1-1, p1-1-1-1, r1-0-1-1, tibia v2-2-2-2-2, metatarsus v2-2-2. Epigynum: median sector and lateral lobes clearly delimited by heavily sclerotised margins that contrast noticeably with the almost white copulatory openings located anteriorly, median sector with a V-shaped posteromedial projection, lateral sectors projecting into short lobes ( Fig 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Vulva with short copulatory ducts, spermathecae with large opposing heads (> <-shaped), fertilization ducts located posteriorly ( Fig 2B View FIGURE 2 ).

Male (IMCN 997). Total length 5.31. Coloration in alcohol ( Fig 1B View FIGURE 1 ): Same as female. Carapace 2.65 long, 2.20; ocular area 0.65 long, 1.00 wide, diameter of eyes AME:ALE:PME:PLE, 0.11:0.11:0.20:0.22; AME-AME nearly AME diameter; PME separation 0.50 times PME diameter; clypeal height 0.15; sternum 1.20 long, 1.32 wide; labium 0.30 long, 0.40 wide. Leg measurements: I: femur 2.35, patella 1, tibia 1.8, metatarsus 1.8, tarsus 0.8, total 7.72; II: 2.3, 1, 1.75, 1.8, 0.75, 7.6; III: 2.1, 0.85, 1.7, 1.85, 0.83, 7.33; IV: 2.35, 0.9, 2.25, 2.7, 1.08, 9.28; IV: 2.35, 0.9, 2.25, 2.7, 1.08, 9.28. Palp ( Figs 3A–C View FIGURE 3 ): Tibia almost as large as cymbium, partially sclerotized at apex, without ventral lobe. RTA large, broad, with a well-defined distal curvature; cymbium with a distal retrolateral excavation, strongly sclerotized and projecting into a small lobe prolaterally; median apophysis broad at base, deeply concave and with a rounded apex; embolus broad, with a lateral fold near apex, base projecting distally; conductor short and hyaline.
