Material examined. SAMC-A28209; SAMC-A28210; SAMC-A28713.
Identification. Test small, brown with radiating white-pinkish rows; apical disc red, encircled by tubercles; spines short, banded; elongated deep pits in horizontal sutures.
Global maximum size. Maximum test diameter 20 mm.
Global distribution. East coast region of South Africa ( Filander & Griffiths 2014), East Africa ( Clark & Rowe 1971) to North East Australia and South China; at 5–350 m depth ( Schultz 2011). Remarks. Differs from Temnopleurus reevesii by elongated pits in horizontal sutures, in small test size and weakly crenulated tubercles.
