Type Material. Holotype male ( USNM No. 50648): “ Forest Grove , Oregon, June 18, 1923 ”.
Specific Epithet. The specific epithet refers to the known specimens having been collected in Oregon.
Diagnosis. The subgeneric characters mentioned above, in combination with ventrite 5 nearly as long as broad and tibia 3 broadly emarginate on the ventral margin, are sufficient to identify specimens of this species.
Redescription. Males: Length 8.7 mm (n = 1); width across elytra 3.11 mm. Head: Transverse
Chorological Affinities. The known ranges of this species and P. acutisetus are adjacent to one another, but are not overlapping. However, with so few specimens known, this may be an artifact.
Material Examined. In addition to the type specimen, only one other specimen was seen. USA: Oregon: Polk Co., Black Rock, 16 km S. Dallas, 3.VIII. 1960, D. Allen (1, UNSM) .
