Genus Ectopioglossa Perkins, 1912

Ectopioglossa Perkins 1912: 118 , genus. Type species: Ectopioglossa australensis Perkins, 1912 [= Eumenes australensis Meade-Waldo, 1910 = Ectopioglossa polita australensis (Meade-Waldo) ], by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Belonging to the group of Eumeninae “Odynerini” with petiolate metasoma, distinguished by the following combination of characters: epicnemial carina present, axillary fossa oval but longer than wide, propodeum dorsally with elongate fovea from which a carina runs to orifice, propodeal valvula short and fused to submarginal carina, T1 with lamellar transverse carina basally, S1 usually reduced to posterior triangular sclerite (normally developed in some African species), second submarginal cell acute basally, female with cephalic foveae.

4. Oblique humeral carina weak and blunt. T1 about 3× as long as apically wide. Narrow basal part of S1 with weak and irregular transverse striae. Pronotum with large and sparse punctures, interspaces shagreened and at least as wide as puncture diameter. Dorsal faces of propodeum with dense microreticulation and subopaque. T2 with deep punctures on sides and on extreme apex, median part impunctate.
