Diagnosis. Habitus typical of the genus Endonura . Dorsal tubercles present, well developed. 2+2 eyes present. Buccal cone strongly elongated. Labral chaetotaxy 0/2, 4. Mandible thin with 4 teeth. Head with 3 chaetae Oc, chaetae A, B, C, D, E (chaeta O present or absent). Tubercle (L+So) on head with 9 chaetae. Tubercles De on thoracic terga II and III with 3 and 4 chaetae respectively. Tubecles L on abd. III and IV with 4 and 6–7 chaetae respectively. Claw without tooth. Tibiotarsi I, II with long chaetae B5 and B4. Tibiotarsus III with only one long chaeta B4.

Material examined. Type material. Holotype, adult female on slide, soil and leaf litter in mixed forest, Jaltyns’kyi Reserve, neighborhood of Jalta, Crimea, Ukraine, 11.IX.1997, leg. R. J. Pomorski, D. SkarŻyński, I. Kaprus’. Paratypes: adult female and 2 males on slides, the same data as holotype. Other material. adult female on slide, leaf litter in beech forest, ca. 800 m a.s.l., Partyzans’ke near Gurzuf, Crimea, 10.IX.1997, leg. R. J. Pomorski, D. SkarŻyński, I. Kaprus’. (holotype, 3 paratypes and other material ZIWU, 1 paratype MNHL).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Latin words “gracilis” – slender and “rostrum” - bill. It refers to the shape of buccal cone of the new species.

Description. Habitus typical of the genus ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ). Body length (without antennae) 1.16–1.45 mm. Colour of the body greyish-blue. 2+2 medium, dark-pigmented eyes.

Types of dorsal ordinary chaetae: macrochaetae Ml and Mc thickened, narrowly sheathed, distinctly serrated and not pointed ( Figs 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 , 23, 26 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ); mesochaetae thin and pointed.

Head. Buccal cone strongly elongate. Labrum pointed, with ventral sclerifications ogival as in Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 19 . Labrum chaetotaxy 0/2, 4 ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ), Chaetotaxy of labium as in Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 19 and Tab. 2 View TABLE 2 . Maxilla styliform, mandible thin with 2 basal and 2 apical teeth ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ). Chaetotaxy of antennae as in Tab. 2 View TABLE 2 . Apical vesicle distinct, trilobed. S-chaetae subequal, long and moderately thickened. Chaetotaxy of head as in Figs 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 , 20 View FIGURES 20 – 26 and Tab. 2 View TABLE 2 . Chaeta D free ( Figs 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 , 20 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ).Tubercle Af wide ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ), with or without chaeta O. Tubercle (L+So) with 9 chaetae (chaeta So2 absent).

Thorax, abdomen, legs. Chaetotaxy of th. and abd. as in Figs 15, 19 View FIGURES 15 – 19 , 23 View FIGURES 20 – 26 and Tab. 2 View TABLE 2 . Tubercles Di on th.I not differentiated ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ). Tubercles L on abd. III and IV with 3 and 6–7 chaetae respectively ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ). Cryptopygy absent. Chaetotaxy of legs as in Figs 21–22, 24–25 View FIGURES 20 – 26 and Tab. 2 View TABLE 2 . Claw without tooth ( Figs 21–22, 24–25 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ). Tibiotarsi I and II with elongate and slightly clavate chaetae B5 and B4. Tibiotarsi III with elongate and slightly clavate chaeta B4.

Discussion. The new species is the most similar to E. taurica (Stach, 1951) , but differs from it in the following characters: buccal cone elongate (in taurica short), labrum with ventral sclerifications ogival (in taurica nonogival), labrum without prelabral chaetae (in taurica present) and mandible thin (in taurica thick).
