Diagnosis. Entirely dark brown to black; palpus inflated, with long hairs.

Redescription. Female (holotype). Head. Frons dark brown to black with black hairs. Vertex with a slight depression. Frontal callus as wide as frons, dark reddish-brown, shiny. Subcallus dark brown, with silver pollinosity best seen in dorsal view. Base of antenna with yellowish pollinosity. Scape and pedicel dark brown with black hairs; flagellum brownish-orange with golden pollinosity. Basal flagellomere with dorsal spine reaching the third flagellomere. Face, parafacia, gena and postgena dark brown, with silver pollinosity best seen in dorsal view. Gena and postgena with dark brown to black hairs. Palpus inflated, dark brown with long dark brown to black hairs.

Thorax. Scutum dark reddish-brown, with black hairs; scutellum dark brown with dark brown to black hairs; both with yellowish-gray pollinosity. Postpronotal lobe lighter than the scutum, with white hairs proximally and dark brown hairs distally and sparse yellow pollinosity. Notopleuron dark reddish-brown, with yellowish pollinosity and dense black hairs. Proepisternum and proepimeron dark brown, with sparse yellowish-gray pollinosity and black hairs. Anepisternum and katepisternum lighter than the scutum, with black hairs; with gray pollinosity best seen in anterodorsal view. Katepimeron light brown, with yellowishgray pollinosity and few short black hairs below the spiracle. Anepimeron dark brown to black with black hairs. Coxa dark brown with yellowish-gray pollinosity and black hairs. Femur and tibia dark brown, with long black hairs, except for white hairs proximally on anterior and anterodorsal sides of the tibia. Tarsus dark brown with black hairs, except for reddish hairs on ventral side. Wing brown, with sub-hyaline apex. Venation brown. Pterostigma light brown. Halter brown, with lighter apex.

Abdomen. Dark brown to black. Tergites dark brown with black hairs. Sternites dark brown with black hairs; sternites 2−4 with whitish pollinosity on the distal margin, forming slight lines.

Measurements. (n = 1, holotype) Body length: 14.86mm. Wing length: 13.14mm. Frontal index: 4.35. Divergence index: 1.23.

Variation. In the wing, the dorsal-distal margin of cell r1, middle of the distal part of the cell r2+3, middle of the d, m1, m2, m3, cua1, cup and bm cells and entirely cell a1 (except the dorsal margin) may be lighter than the rest of the wing.

Male: unknown.

Type-locality. Brazil: Mato Grosso (Chapada dos Guimarães).

Distribution. Brazil (Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, São Paulo).
