scientific name

Phanocloidea vacca ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 408 )
status

24. Phanocloidea vacca ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 408) [ Bostra ]. HT, ♀: Patria?; Coll. Br. v. W. Patria ??; det. Redtenb. Bostra vacca ; 13.398; Bostra vacca Redtb. Type [NHMW, No. 792]. comb. n.

Remarks: Females of this species, the only sex known, are very similar to P. turgia ( Westwood, 1859) in various morphological aspects, e. g. the shape of the head, obtusely spinose meso- and metapleurae and mesosternum, well defined medio-longitudinal carina of the mesonotum, fairly long subgenital plate and distinct sub-apical teeth of the medio-ventral carina of the meso- and metafemora. Unfortunately, the type-locality of the unique holotype is not known but judging from the close affinity to P. turgia it is not unlikely to originate from Venezuela or Colombia.

Distribution: Not known [NHMW].
