= Bostra bifida Redtenbacher, 1908: 412 View in CoL . HT, ♀: Coll. Br. v. W., Venezuela, Staudinger; det. Redtenb. Bostra bifida View in CoL ; 20.863; Bostra bifida Redt. View in CoL Type [NHMW, No. 798]. syn. n.
= Bacteria tenella Redtenbacher, 1908: 417 View in CoL . LT, ♂: Porto Cabello Venezuela, Prof. Sievers, leg. Geogr. Ges. Ded. 6.X.1893; 67 [ZMUH]; PLT, 3 ♂♂: Porto Cabello Venezuela, Prof. Sievers leg. Geogr. Ges. Ded. 6.X.1893 [ZMUH]. syn. n.
Remarks: Females of this species differ from all other representatives of Phanocloidea by the very short subgenital plate and long, lanceolate cerci, that project considerably beyond the apex of the abdomen. A series of five ♀♀ and two ♂♂ from the same locality in ANSP has proven Bacteria tenella Redtenbacher, 1908 to represent the opposite sex of Ph. bifida , and both taxa to be synonyms of Burmeister’s P. gracilis (syn. n.).
Distribution: N-Venezuela, Est. La Guaira, La Guaira [MNHU]; N-Venezuela, Province Carabobo, Puerto Cabello [ZMUH]; N-Venezuela, Est. Carabobo, San Esteban [ANSP, UMMZ]; N-Venezuela, Caracas, Mount Avila [ZSMC]; Venezuela [NHMW, ZMUH].
