DISTRIBUTION. — The species is known from much of the New World tropics being reported from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, French Guiana, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn et al. 1995a; Sanborn 2006, 2007a, b, 2010a; Thouvenot 2007b).
