Type:— NEPAL. Tukucha: Kali Gandaki, approximately 28°43′N, 83°39′E, 3200 m, open grass slopes, 22 August 1954, Stainton, Sykes & Williams 7403 (holotype BM000957924 !) GoogleMaps .
Distribution: —C Nepal.
Note: —The species is similar to Epilobium williamsii Raven (1962a: 378) . Although it was not described in the protologue, the anatomical drawings on the holotype showed that E. brevisquamatum has hairs at base of the style, and we can use this characteristic to distinguish E. brevisquamatum and E. williamsii .
